Dear Readers,

I had the most amazing time at the Romance Writers of Australia conference in Darwin and it was all the more exciting to win Romantic Book of the Year in the Short Contemporary category for my 97th book Illicit Italian Nights.

I truly wasn’t expecting to win, so hadn’t written an acceptance speech. A highlight for me was the fancy dress cocktail party where my husband ( he’s such a good sport!) became Starlight Stephanie for the night.

My little seven -year-old granddaughter asked me to her sharing session at school on Friday as she was so excited for me. She wanted to show her classmates my trophy and Ruby badge and certificate. The kids asked some great questions and I was so thrilled that they were so engaged and interested and inspired.

It is finally spring in Tasmania! The last few days of winter were absolutely gorgeous with bright sunny weather and mild temperatures.
